Hosted by the Ottawa Culinary Federation, this high-energy culinary showdown is a regional qualifier, with the winning chef advancing to the provincial finals in Toronto. Endorsed by Team Canada, the event will feature six professional chefs competing head-to-head.
Ticket holders will have the chance to meet the chefs, sample each of their dishes, and cast their vote for the People’s Choice Award, while a panel of judges determines the official winner. Attendance is limited to 100 guests for this exclusive two-hour experience.
About Ottawa Culinary Federation
The Culinary Federation is a national group of chefs with a commitment to excellence, education, and sustainability in our field. We organize competitions and events while working within our communities to both give back and provide educational experience to young chefs. By touring and supporting local food based businesses we aim to build a stronger culinary community not only in our city but for the country as well. The Culinary federation sponsors Team Canada in all culinary fields, we also work towards advanced certification and continued education for our membership through the Red seal and CCC programs.
Derick is the Supervising Producer at CTV Morning Live Ottawa, bringing years of television experience from his time hosting and producing “Daytime Ottawa” on Rogers TV and “Breakfast Television Montreal.” Passionate about sharing local stories and connecting with the community, he was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012 for his charitable contributions. After publicly sharing his lifelong experience with chronic fecal incontinence, Derick became an ambassador and now serves as president of the Canadian Continence Foundation, advocating for others facing challenges. He is also an inspirational speaker whose TEDx Talk explores living with invisible conditions, overcoming isolation, and the importance of authenticity, kindness, and human connection.
